Audioporn have forever been a hub for artists starting their careers and with the help of label head Shimon the imprint has created an enviable roster. Biological Beats’ artist, Enta, now joins the fray through a brand-new EP which slings five cut-throat anthems into the mix and proves why he’s one of the most sought after names currently moving through set lists and lines ups. And his forthcoming EP is another package on Audioporn which also continues the label’s trend of picking the best newcomer artists for their release schedule.
The ‘Nasty Nasty’ EP is a no holds barred, explosive path through Enta’s production skills and from beginning to end it doesn’t pull for the brakes. The sounds of ‘Warpath’ cuts through first and just as you’d expect it’s a sonic call to arms that jumps at you through each zagging stabs of LFOs and every smacking drum pattern. Following on comes the solid punches of ‘Recoil’, a track you could imagine opening any chaotic DJ set and one which whizzes through on top of shattering breaks and thumping bass pads. ‘Could You Repeat That’ drives the assault once more, rolling you into a false sense of security with elevating patches of synthesis and roots of percussion before the track kicks you down its first drop. Quickly slapping, electronic drums carry the track forward with a biting urgency and its bassline juts throughout the selection. Then title-track ‘Nasty Nasty’ remains setting the scene of the EP, with subterranean levels and an almost cinematic breakdown. Meanwhile ‘Discipline’ sits last on the track list, highlighting a different flavour from Enta but still channelling the same unforgiving momentum. Enta shows his weight on Audioporn and it won’t go unnoticed.
Audioporn’s next signing is another case for why they are still sitting pride of place in the drum & bass annals. From Shimon to Trimer to Benny L, they’ve become selectors of the biggest drum & bass tracks in recent memory – but considering their background, this is now an expected part of the Audioporn release output.
